Brittany Vega

Sky Exchange is a public art project declaring an ode to the perspective of another; a flag not for a nation, but for a shared place, the sky.

This project was selected as a Distributed Community Project, a series of public projects hosted by Portland Textile Month. Each flag was painted after a submitted image of the sky, as each participant saw it. The flags were exchanged amongst those involved, each receiving a sky of another. The exchange resulted in over thirty flags flying across the city of Portland, OR and one on the road indefinitely.

This selection of images was provided by the participants of the Sky Exchange. The Sky Exchange as a show now exists here and serendipitously in person throughout the Portland area.
